On the 25th June, A-band were lucky enough to be invited to perform at the annual Armed Forces Day event, held in Victoria Square, St Helens.

The band were proud to perform as cadet groups from St Helens and war veterans marched into the square to celebrate all that the our Armed Forces do for us. We performed a short programme of two pieces, one of which being a beautiful flugelhorn solo by Freya, entitled ‘How Can I Keep From Singing?’. To finish the event we played the march ‘1914’ – a medley of traditional¬†war songs including ‘It’s A Long Way Tipperary’ and other well-known tunes.

The event was a great success with the band featuring on the local news show ‘North West Tonight’, and we are proud and honoured to have had such wonderful feedback from veterans, spectators and organisers of the event.
